Obverse:
Persian legend. Couplet with the Ruler's name and titles (from bottom to top: [Zad] bar Haft Kishwar Sikkah / Sayah Fazl Hami din / [llah Muhammad Shah ‘Alam Badshah] = Struck coin through the seven climes, the shadow of the divine favour, Shah Alam, the Emperor, the defender of the Faith of Mohammed). Date (120[x]) in the central line at right over the S of Sayah.

Reverse:
Persian legend. Mint name with epithet and Julus formula (from bottom to top: Sanat 30 julus maimanat manus / zarb Hathras = Struck at Hathras (in the) year 30 (of his) reign associated with prosperity). Mint marks in field.
